  • Notes 
    • Jonathan Gauld was born at Netherton, Glenbuchat Parish, and baptized 1 July 1799. Presumably he was born the previous month in June. His father was a crofter who was operating a croft at Crofts by 1841 and died there in 1841.

      Jonathan continued as a crofter at Crofts, by 1871 operating 60 acres with 3 hired helpers. He died at Crofts in 1876. His widow continued operating the croft at least through 1881 with the help of their son Jonathan.
