    • 25th Chief of Clan Brodie from 1943. Ninian fought in WW2 with the Royal Artillery. He was variously an actor, market gardener, landowner and latterly castle guide.
      He sold Brodie Castle and its 175 acre estate to the National Trust for Scotland in 1978 for £130,000 citing spiralling maintenance costs. Contested unsuccessfully by his grandchildren.
