      Goosen, John, 80, of Hart, Mich., passed away Monday, July 4, 2005 at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. He was born June 3, 1925 in Riverton Township, Mason County, Mich., the son of Cornelius and Theresa (Perlings) Goosen. Mr. Goosen was a life resident of Mason and Oceana counties. He joined the former Emma L. Ohse in marriage June 4, 1960 in Scottville. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hart. He was employed by General Telephone Company as a lineman, worked on the carferry out of Ludington, drove a school bus for Hart Schools and later worked for Stokley Canning Company. Mr. Goosen was a Navy veteran having served during WWII. He was an avid gardener. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Connie Kay Duncil, of Scottville, Larry H. (Yvonne) Goosen, of Lake Orion, Mich., and Dianna (Tom) Nelson of Greer S.C.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Julia Dennert of Hart and Barbara (Louis) Wilde of Bailey, Mich.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Frank and Stan-Jack Goosen and sisters Mary Schlee, Ruby Meninck and Anna Arklet. It is suggested that those who wish consider Our Savior Lutheran Church as a memorial. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) at Our Savior Lutheran Church, in Hart. The Rev. Geoff Kieta will officiate. Interment, Hart Cemetery. Arrangements by Harris Funeral Home, Shelby.
