      Goosen, Emma Louise 79, of Hart, passed away Nov. 11, 2010 at the Ludington Woods Assisted Living Center in Ludington after a six month battle with cancer.

      She was born May 31, 1931 in Custer, Mich., the daughter of August H. Ohse and Edna Anna Julia (Schreck) Ohse. Emma graduated from Custer High School. June 4, 1960 she married John Goosen, who preceded her in death July 4, 2005 after 45 years together. Emma was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hart. Throughout the years, Emma had been employed with Michigan Bell Telephone, REA Scottville, Hart Bank as well as other brief employments. She enjoyed her home and took pride in caring for their lovely homestead with her husband. She looked forward to family gatherings and special outings with friends.

      Emma is survived by sisters, Ella (Norman) Sommerfeldt of Custer, Eda Mahn of Jonesboro, Ga., Mary Schultz of Ludington and Doris (Herb) Schaner of Fountain; brothers, Robert (Carla) Ohse of Custer and William Ohse of Largo, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her husband's children, Connie Duncil of Scottville, Larry H. (Yvonne) Goosen of Lake Orion, Mich., and Dianna (Tom) Nelson of Greer, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Julia Dennert of Hart and Barbara (Louis) Wilde of Bailey; as well as the Goosen grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother August E. Ohse; brothers-in-law Gordon Schultz and Richard Mahn; sister-in-law Claudette Ohse; infant brother, Walter, and infant sister, Loretta. Emma also was preceded by her husband's brothers Frank and Stan Goosen and sisters-in-law Mary Schlee, Ruby Meninck and Ann Arklet. Interment was in Hart Cemetery.
